Good morning all, sorry I missed voting last week, I was out of town on business, but I recorded the show and I thought it was one of the best so far. As for last nights show I thought it would have been a better show considering they allowed them to sing anything as long as it was a popular iTunes download. Why is everyone making such a big deal about clothing…geez…give it a rest. I am picking Anoop to head home.

I’m sure glad that I’ve posted after the rest of you - you’ve really made me laugh reading your posts! This is going to sound like I’m echoing your thoughts, but short and sweet and to the point….I continue to think that Adam is the best….was awed by Kris - loved him on the keyboard and the vocal, too….Danny next, then Allison…..The rest for me, you can just toss them all in a hat and pick one out and I’d be happy when they’re gone……but will be the happiest when we say buh bye to Megan….yeah, I know, I’ve said that for the last few weeks, but she’s proving my point that I’ve had from the beginning that she can’t sing worth a diddle…..so although I’m desperate for Megan to leave, I’m picking Scott….(more laughter)…

I sat down on the couch with a bowl of popcorn and after the first two people, Anoop and Megan, I decided to forego the relaxing atomosphere and sit at the computer.
Anoop - (D) His attitude just got him booted. His performance got him booted as well. He just di a horrible job in my opinion.
Megan - (D) What the hay was that? Sorry. Maybe they should let 2 go this week. lol
Danny - (B+) After the first 2 people, I could have given him an A, but I think he’s slipping just a hair. The song choice was good and the judges seemed to like it. But like I said, anyone could have followed Anoop and Megan.
Allison - (B+) She’s better than what she did tonight. However, I thought she did a decent job. They sure do harp on the fashion thing alot, don’t they?
Scott - (C-) I give him an A+ on his piano playing, but this is a singing and fashion competiton. LOL
Matt - (C) Not my cup of tea. I watched for the first minute or so, but then turned my back and read an email. lol.
Lil Rounds - (B) She started off shakey and I know she is better than what she did tonight. I was really surprised because I have always been in her corner.
Adam - (A+) Not my style, but he did an excellent job with this song. Made it his own and I think at this point, I think he may just win it.
Kris Allen - (A) One of my all time favorite numbers. “Ain’t No Sunshine When She’s Gone”. He did a great job.
The best was Adam; then Kris; then Allison followed by Danny is my opinion. Who should go? Yumpin gymony. Either Anoop or Meagan. I haven’t been right yet, I’ll say Meagan.
I have to get long-winded again and tell you what I wrote before I heard the judges.
Anoop - very different for him, didn’t care for it
Megan - she can’t sing. I don’t care how much she loves the song.
Danny - better than I expected
Allison - gives it her all - a bit shouty in parts - I found myself looking at her awful outfit and hair instead of listening to her
Scott - the best I’ve heard him
Matt - sounded forced and off to me
Lil - reminded me of Melinda Doolittle tonight - she really belted it out
Adam - What a voice! really showed off his range
Kris - the best I’ve heard him

It’s all over the place this week. I would have thought with so much to choose from, each of these performers could have found the song which would be perfect for them. Not so much….

Megan C- (only because it was better than the last two weeks for her)

Allison B (hated the outfit, didn’t like the song choice, but she did OK with what she had to work with)
Scott D+ (what were the judges hearing? for me, it was just the same old lounge singer, and not a really good one)
Matt B (give him credit for trying something different)
Lil B (very pitchy - it hurt my ears in parts)
Adam A+ (I’m not a fan of Adam’s, but he’s very creative)
Kris A+ (I’m liking him better each week. He’s a sleeper)
OK, the bottom three is very hard this week. So many to choose from. How will America vote? Scott, Megan, and Anoop. I hope, pray and predict that Megan will go home. Put the poor girl out of her misery.

I thought the best (A’s) were Adam, Allison and Danny - in that order. B’s = Kris, Anoop, and Lil. C’s = Matt, Scott, and Michael. I thought Megyn was a D. I think the three bottom were Scott, Michael and Megyn. I think Michael may go home, but I really think Scott or Megyn should go home first.
I enjoyed the show last night - was fun seeing them with Smokey Robinson - I’ve always liked his songs, especially Tears of a Clown. I really like that Adam takes huge risks with rearranging his songs. Allison singing is always solid, but I wish they would fix her hair color - really doesn’t suit her skin tone.
I was asked out to dinner last night and these days, I do not pass those invites up. The restaurant had the Idol on TV without the sound and I kept my eye. This was unusual to watch without sound. But I had some fun with it and jotted down some notes per the crowd and judges reactions. When I go home, I read your comments and they were pretty much right on. hahaha. So, what’s that tell you?
My pick to go home would be Scott. I am going against the grain here, but heck, I haven’t been right yet.
Great show! I LOVED Adam, Allison and Kris! I think it’s time for Scott to go, but it will be Michael that’s voted off. Danny Gokey is the one I’ve been pulling for all year so far…but Adam is slowing nudging him aside!! Still love Megan even though last night wasn’t her best. Lil didn’t do as well as she should have on a Motown night.

I don’t think anyone was outstanding tonight. I would have thought that Motown would have had the most range of songs and that everyone would have been able to pick something great for them. WRONG !!

Motown week! A few train wrecks, but not as many as there could have been. My grades:
Matt: A
Kris: A-
Scott: C- (mediocre piano bar)

Anoop: B+ (he took a real risk, and almost nailed it)

Adam: A (quite the recovery from last week, which I hated)
Danny: B (he’s getting complacent, and some of the other contestants are sneaking up on him)
Allison: A+ (she’s 16? how can that be?)
Bottom 3: Megan, Michael, Scott
Going home: Megan should, but probably won’t this week. Scott started relatively strong in the auditions, but hasn’t really upped his game at all since first time we saw him. He’ll stay at least one more week. Michael is going home.
I”m hoping that Megan will go, but considering that Michael was in the bottom last week and deserves to be in the bottom THIS week, I’m playing copycat and saying Michael just like Skipper….
I liked Adam last week (yeah, I know some of you didn’t) but LOVED his vocals this week….totally awesome!
To go home?? either Michael or Megan but I think I’ll go with Michael. Adam did a complete about turn from last week and I thought he was hot! Lil looked hot but didn’t do as well as she usually does. I didn’t think that Matt was as good as the judges did. I thought it was a poor start that got better. My grades?

I had to watch it later last night, so I didn’t keep notes for grades. I’ll get with the program next week. I usually dread country week, as there are frequently train wrecks. Not so many last night. I completely agreed with Simon on Adam’s performance (what in the hell was that?). I think Megan should go, but the sympathy vote will probably save her for one more week. My guess is that Alexis will go. She just was not memorable. Scott is getting weaker, and I think he’s going to be in danger within the next week or two. And Anoop really did himself a lot of good last night. Surprising!

Not a big country fan but I liked the way some of the singers put their own spin on the songs. Here are my ratings for last night;

I feel bad that Megan was sick this week, but she’s gotta go! How’s that for short, Skipper? (laughter)
I think I’ve been too mouthy so I’ll try to shorten it tonight. Plus I’m not sure if one gets voted off or two. If it’s one I think it should be Megan, and if it’s 2 i think it should be Megan and Adam. Adam tried too hard to be sexy. I think the 2 of them were terrible. Allison sounded forced. My favs were Anoop, Matt, Danny, Kris and Scott.
11 Remain and here we go again. At this point, let’s see some grading going on. Like A+ being the best and F being the worse. If you didn’t do it this time, that’s ok.
Celebrating the Grand Old Opry Night
Michael Sarver - B+ . Lot of words to sing there in the song he did. lol. Very entertaining.
Allison Iraheta - B+ . Thought she did a great job with this song.
Kris Allen - B+ . He did a great job and surprised me this time.
Lil Rounds - B+ . Just OK for me. I know she can do better. Like she said, she’s a R&B girl. I agreed with the judges about song choice.
Adam Lambert - B . Well, he certainly made that song his but this is country week. To me, he took a Johnny Cash song and made it something that almost sounded like a song from the Doors. I agree with several judges that it was strange.
Scott MacIntyre - B-. Started off kind of sticky but took the song somewhere and I like that. Not bad, but not great.
Alexis Grace - B-. She did just ok to me. She was also pitchy in a few spots. When she went up with the falsetto, it scared me. lol.
Danny Gokey - A. Best of the night so far. Of course, I love Carrie Underwood. Oh, and her songs too. But he did do a great job.
Anoop Desai - A-. He surprised me on this one. Wasn’t expecting that performance.
Megan Joy - C+. Sorry. I didn’t think it was as good as the judges thought it was. But she had the flu.
Matt Giraud - A. Now this guy really surprised me. I thought he did an excellent job.

I was surprised by who was let go. I think Jorge has a really good voice and his choice of song was not THAT bad. Same thing with Jasmine - her song choice was a little boring, but not bad. Oh well.
Interesting idea about the judges overriding one lowest vote exit. Might work out good. I’m glad they only have the one option, though. If they did it too often, it would making voting a moot issue.
I missed it Tuesday night but watched the vids online of the performances. After watching, I thought Anoop and Megan should go.
