American Idol Top 12 Show 1

Top 12 night and glad we’re down to it. This season has been kind of slow and hope it picks up. To me, and this is just my opinion, there are only 3 or 4 good singers. Michael Lynch, Crystal Bowersox, Sioban Magnus and Aaron Kelley. We’ll see.

Michael Lynch: **** First up, Michael. Nice job and nice falsetto. He played the stage and the audience too. Nice job.

Didi Benami: *** Not bad. She surprised me until she hit this one high note. lol

Casey James: *** Was missing something and I can’t put my finger on it. Maybe it wasn’t loud enough or something. Usually, that’s not my complaint. Usually, it’s too loud.

Lacey Brown: *** Ya can’t fault a gal for learning to sing in church. She put her own little twist on this song but it seemed to me to be just alright. Nothing earth shattering.

Andrew Garcia: ** He has a little bit of Sting going for him. But this song wasn’t a good one for him I don’t think. Not only that, he was a bit pitchy here and there. But maybe that’s his style.

Katie Stevens: ** Oh my. She’s going astray. Sounded too karaoke to me.

Tim Urban: * Sorry. Man, I can’t see it. This guy is flat, and it’s amazing he’s made it this far.

Siobhan Magnus: *** I’ll still her 3 stars but she seemed a bit shakier than other performances. lol and cracked a few times at the end with them high notes. I’ll give her an ‘A’ for going for it.

Lee Dewyze: ** Just OK but better than the last few times.

Paige Miles: ** Sorry. Karaoke style. Just couldn’t get into it. Tried to. Added not here. Just found out she had laryngitis. Ouch. I’ll give her an extra star for that. So she get’s 2.

Aaron Kelley: *** I gave him three stars because I feel sad. hahaha.

Crystal Bowersox: ***** The best of the night. I’d buy her CD and I don’t buy any CD’s, lol.

Let’s just jump right into what happened this week. First the gals, and then the guys. I think this week the bad singing was pretty much equally divided between both sexs. Tonight it opened up with the group sing and I really like that song. Gonna say it again. Ryan get’s on my nerves.

Well, it’s guys night and 2 will be gone tomorrow night. Is Ryan getting on anyones nerves? Oh well. Let’s get started.

Lee Dewyze: ** Better than last week but still a little out of tune.

Alex Lambert: ** Nothing special for me. Same as last week.

Tim Urban: ** He surprised me. Better than all the times before put together.

Andrew Garcia: ** First time for 2 stars for this guy but didn’t do anything for me.

Casey James: ** Just OK for me.

Aaron Kelley: ** Just alright for me. Where’s the rock and roll? Enough of the ballads!

Todrick Hall: **** Igive this guy 4 stars. That was excellent redition of the Queen song and he did everything the judges have been telling everyone since day 1. They had nothing to complain about but did anyway. Best of the night so far.

Michael Lynche: ***** Very, very nice. Excellent job. Gave him 5 stars.

Best of night…. Michael Lynche of course.

American Idol 2010

The opening with Ellen sitting on Simon’s lap was wierd but I guess they did it for the laugh. I didn’t laugh. We’re down to 8 girls and the first one was Katie Steven’s.

Katie Stevens: ** Started flat. Too low for her. Too flat. Was waiting for something to happen and nothing did. Was too karaoke for me.

Siobhan Magnus: **** Very nice; loved her tone; and she took the song somewhere and made it her own.

Lacey Brown: *** Unique voice; in tune; interesting to me for the first time.

Katelyn Epperly: ** Didn’t move me, thrill me, or kill me. Sorry. The song was all over the place and it sounded like a lounge act.

Did Benami: *** She surprised me this week. Again, she has a unique voice. Good for some kind of genre. Maybe old dtyle. She was in tune but kind of just so so as it went on.

Paige Miles: * A big disappointment. She was flat at times and I don’t want to type anymore.

Crystal Bowersox: ***** Gave her 5 stars. That was terrific. Reminds a little of a mellower Janis Joplin. lol.

Lilly Scott: * I almost fell to pieces when she started the song. lol. OUCH! She may go home. Sorry.

Here we are getting rid of 4 more people. 2 guys and 2 gals. Here’s what Sue, Skipper and I said.

Skipper about the girls:
Wish some more people would post here! I’ll read your remarks after I post mine!
Crystal – **** even better than last week after she got started
Haeley V – ** how can anyone get off pitch singing with a band??
Lacey Brown – * terrible speaking voice and her singing voice isn’t much better. She should listen with her hands behind her ears! Her 1st note was flat!
Katie Stevens – *** she sounds so young. I love her voice and she’s got a good range. needs to grow up
Didi Benami – ** not the right song for her
Michelle Delamore – ***- (can a give a minus stars?!?) not quite on throughout the song
Lily Scott – *** hmmm didn’t write a comment about her
Katelyn Epperly – *** better than last week
Paige Miles – **** wouldn’t have chosen that song for her but thought she handled it
Siobhan Mangus – **** when she hit that high note near the end, that girl rocked!
Girls going home – Haeley and Lacey
To go home? Alex and Jermaine (If it isn’t Alex, it should be Tim)

Sue:

Kieto:

Tim Urban is safe again? OMG. C’mon… give me a break.

John Park going home. Sue got this one right.
Jermaine Sellers going home. Sue got them both right and a shout out to Skipper.

Tim Urban stays and Jermaine goes home. OK. John Park I can understand. But this is just plain silly.

Michelle Delamore goes home. We all blew that one.
Halley Vaughn get’s the axe. All three of us got this right.

American Idol Top 10 Girls

American Idol 2010It’s ladies night on American Idol and hope they do better than last week. I will be paying attention better tonight seeing how I got my work done for the day. I know the girls have to do better than the guys last night. I hope Ryan sticks with hosting the show and not butt in with his comments. Yo Ryan, let the judges, including Simon, do their job. Sheesh!

Pick 4 to go home. 2 Guys, and 2 girls below.

Here’s what I got last night from some of you.

Skipper:
The ones I thought improved are:Mike Lynche, John Park, Alex Lambert, Todrick Hall, Jermaine Sellers, Aaron Kelly, and Tim Urban. Now, that doesn’t mean I thought they were good! My stars would be:
Mike L ****
John P *** song suited him
Casey ** his guitar is excellent but his voice isn’t
Alex **- It WAS better but last week I gave him * !

Andrew ** disappointed again
Aaron ** 1st half of song was better than the 2nd. too much falsetto

Looking at my stars, maybe I’m being too critical

Mike was the best, second best Lee.

Sue:
Ho-hum…..tonight’s show was about as exciting as watching wallpaper dry. And no wonder – those judges have the guys confused….”make it your own” – and when they do, the judges jump them for not sticking with the original song. I agree with Kieto – Michael was by far the best and the rest? Very unforgettable for me. I really don’t care who goes home, but I don’t think it will be Aaron or Tim (who was a little better tonight).

My pick to exit is John Park and Jermaine Sellers.

Cyrstal Bowersox: **** I think she did a great job with that song. She put a twist on it and at first, I didn’t think it was going to work out. But she did a good job.

Halley Vaughn: ** OK. Was she off pitch? I mean, I think it was probably hard to follow Crystal but that was awful at times. ouch.

Lacey Brown: ** Nothing for me. Sorry. Pitchy at times, but ok at times. 2 stars

Katie Stevens: *** I liked it when she started. It got better which is a good thing. She took some dips here and there but ended up alright. She has a nice voice.

Didi Benami: ** She started sort of off her cookies. And stayed like all though the song. Worse than last week.

Michelle Delamore: *** Did alright and has my vote to be in top 10.

Lilly Scott: *** She a great job with that song. She’ll be in top 10.

Katelyn Epperly: ** Way too slow but she sang it very meaningful. Went off key at the end.

Paige Miles: *** She did alright.

Siobhan Magnus: **** WOW. When she hit that high nore… I about flipped. I thought that was super. Top 10.

It’s guy night at American Idol and I love it when they go to the judges for advice before the performances. They all had pretty good advice. Especially Simon. In anycase, I hope the show goes better than last night. At this point, all we are doing is voting for who goes home on Thursday. So pick 2 guys, and 2 gals in the comment box. Todrick Hall: *** He started off good, then went somewhere and then came back.
Aaron Kelly: *** Not bad, but not the best.
Jermaine Sellers: *** Although he was kind of screaming at times, he was pretty good.
Tim Urban: * Awful. He’s lucky to get one start from me. lol. Am I too critical? lol
Joe Munoz: *** Very nice job I thought.
Tyler Grady: * Nope. Ouch. Had my interest in the beginning but poof. Disapeared.
Lee Dewyze: ** He started off really good and then went so far off pitch, I fell off the couch. But Simon said he was a natural. What do I know?
John Park: ** Not bad, but not real good either. He surprised me on some of the runs.
Michael Lynch: *** Very good. He was right on and I look for him to be in top 12.
Alex Lambert: No star. It was out there and boring, out of tune, and it looked like he was nervous.
Casey James: *** Not bad. At least he was in tune.
Andrew Garcia: **** I thought he did a great job. That was a tough song. However, Simon didn’t.

American Idol: Hollywood
First hour… top 46 American Idol.

Angela Martin.. kind of Jazzy (a little out of tune here and there but will get better)
A dude. Missed his name but really good.
Casey James: Pretty good
Siobhan Mangus … No
Crystal… good

I think all the ones I heard were pretty good. I had my back to them and was listening. Every once in awhile, I would turn around only to miss the names of a few. That’s OK. We’ll get down to the names when the 24 are selected.

All together, I guess tomorrow night with the 46 will be pretty good. Stay tujned for the polls and more videos.
