American Idol Top 13 – 2012
Well, here we are again after all these years reviewing American Idol. When it get’s down to 10, I will have another poll to see how all 3 of us judge these folks. Go ahead a grade them tonight. Pick best 2 (1 guy and 1 gal) and worse 2(1 guy and 1 gal).
Guys.. Stevie Wonder songs. Gals… Whitney Houston songs.
Joshua Ledet: (B) Up first. Stayed in one spot. Didn’t do what Mary Ann Blige told him to do. Good voice though.
Elise Testone: (B+) I didn’t care too much for her early on. But she hit this song good tonight. Enjoyed it. I by perplexed the judges remarks. They give so much sugar to those I think are not that good, and rag on folks I think diod a good job. Oh well.
Jermaine Jones: (C) Parts was good, and parts were shaky. Can’t see it.
Erika Van Pelt: (B) Glad she is back in the mix.
Colton Dixon: (B) Nice job from the rocker.
Shannon Magrane: (B-) For a girl, and she is a girl, 16 I think, she did an alright job. A couple of places were pitchy and unsure, but she pulled it off.
Deandre Brackensick: (B) Did OK.
Skylar Laine: (C) country girl singing Whitney. Sounds like Dolly Parton at times.
Heejun Han: (C+) Nice tone, but off in a couple of places. Difficult song to sing.
Hollie Cavanagh: (C+) Nice job.
Jeremy Rosado: (D) Tough song, falsetto off, and very pitchy. To say nothing about not holding the last note out. The judges again heard something completely different.
Jessica Sanchez: (A) Very good. Surprising.

Honestly, Steven Tyler needs a new adjective beside the word “beautiful”…cause not all of the singing was that tonight.
Jessica hit a grand slam tonight with “I Will Always Love You”…I was really disappointed in Shannon…she has a great voice, but she wasn’t on tonight. This was really not Skylar’s genre tonight..I felt sorry for her.
As far as the guys go, I really wasn’t that impressed by any of them. But if I have to pick one that stood out for me, it would be Phillip, as he made that song his own…
So my picks and pans are…
